Anonymous asked: Which Cambridge venue will The Understudies be playing at in Feb?
The Cornershop, 4th February. :)
Hallo... We're Sleeping Today!
Sleeping Today is an indie infant club night based in Cambridge. In short, we winnow through a spectrum of record releases and hand-pick some intriguing favourites to share live with Cambridge's locals and wayward travellers.
Sleeping Today vouches for a haphazard mix-up of the new, the old, the local and the foreign. Our music policy covers blithesome punk, melodies fit to dulcify and jangly forgotten favourites.
Our DJs are ever-changing. Although our performers are always welcome to DJ, we have an open door policy for Dj-ing artisans/amateurs.
Now that we're acquainted, why don't you join our club on Last.fm? Aw, no last.fm account? Join our Facebook Group, with the latter.
Well, that's us. Look forward to meeting you

downdime
downdime are a loud pop band from Leeds consisting of four friends, Ged, Liz, Ste and Eddy. The feel of their releases ranges from boisterous (“Hate The Morning”) to curative (“Lessons”). The brawl between Ged’s relentless, fuzzy riffs and Liz’s synth loop bursts maintains downdime’s inviting sound. Back in January 2009 downdime made their debut LP release on Squirrel Records. This snappy release offers 30 minutes of raw, canny pop. Copies are available at SquirrelRecords.co.uk.

To complete the circuit, Ian Schultz, the friend who introduced me to downdime at IndieTracks 2010 shall be djing.
We at Sleeping Today cannot contain ourselves- downdime alongside The School, Electric Sugar Children and (((oh dear’s going to be barmy! Be seeing you later, Sleeping Today #4.

The Hardy Boys
Writing under the influence of A Guy Called Gerald, McCarthy and The Pastels, Johnny White and David McArthur write genuine, spry, pulsating jangle pop tracks. Notably, a single released on Stella Five label in 1989, which finds itself today to a be highly sought after, quintessential indie pop release. Having not toured extensively since 1990, Greenock’s Hardy Boys have resurfaced with an au courant EP, “Under the Piccadily Clock” [Bubblegum Records]. We’re so pleased that this release roughly accompanies ST3… This set shall truly portray a panoptic chunk of indie history.
Oh- Oh! “Under the Piccadily Clock“‘s out on 3rd September 2010… You can pre-order now!

To sample their sound, head to their Myspace account. (Also, check out their full Bio, influences and videos… Superb).
Enjoy yourselves. Er, it’s later than you think!
